Sara-K. Hannig Nour
Founder
Sara is an agro-entrepreneur dedicated to the development of organic farming and creating access to clean food in Egypt. She is a passionate and driven individual that has shown throughout her life a willingness to take on great challenges with confidence. Moving from her home country of Switzerland to Egypt in her early adult years Sara quickly began learning Arabic. Once becoming proficient she turned her attention to developing a family run farm and transforming it into Egypt’s first farm-to-table produce delivery service. Sara won the Cartier Women’s Initiative award in 2017.
Karim Shalaby
Managing Director
Karim was involved in water management, rural development, cultivation, agriculture, Agri supply, and value chains over the past 25 years. He is a strong proponent of healthy and environmentally aligned practices on a business and personal level. His roles spanning from working as a consultant to being a farmer, have given him insights into the challenges of achieving best practices and being true to our values while maintaining the competitiveness of the bottom-line results. Karim has degrees in Economics, Water Management, and Rural Development. He is currently the bearer of guiding the team and seeing our vision, mission, and goals blossom and continue to develop.
Janina Darhouse
E-Com & Marketing Manager
Janina Darhouse is our E-Commerce & Marketing Manager. She has been working in E-Commerce- and Online Marketing for more than 17 years. Before joining SOF in Egypt, she was based in Saudi Arabia and Germany, working for major retailers as the head of E-Commerce. In Saudi Arabia, Janina gained a good understanding of the MENA region. She instantly fell in love with the mission of SOF while being a client during her regular visits to Egypt. Janina strongly believes that clean, chemical-free food should be available to us all. Aside from her role in E-Com and Marketing, you can always find her brainstorming with Sara about new products, while enjoying the fresh vegetable juice they both love!
Tareq Tohamy
Customer Service Manager
Tareq joined the team of Sara´s Organic Food in 2021 as our customer service manager. He makes sure that our team of customer happiness agents communicate all the necessary information to our clients in a timely manner, as well as making sure everyone really stays a happy client. Tareq curates the weekly box ingredients. He coordinates our Facebook and Instagram shops and communication. He is a bundle of energy, and by far the best person we can think of, to take care of our beloved SOF friends! He is also responsible for our market presence and manages this whole process both on the farm and in weekly markets. In his free time, he is a passionate wood-crafting artist.
Nahla EL Gizawy
Product Designer
Nahla Elgizawy is our T-shape designer who creates our pretty visuals; be that for our products' packaging, cool company swag or digital designs. Next to SOF she designs jewelry and can be found taking creative baking workshops. After studying an MA in Creative Industries and researching the impact of these industries on the planet, she's committed to do her part in reducing our company's carbon footprint. As we strive to continually become more sustainable she helps us make greener choices for our packaging. She is a global nomad at heart and her travels fuel her creativity through learning about the marvelous cultures, cuisines and art out there.
Ahmed Zidan
Key Account & Order Fulfillment Agent
Ahmad Zidan joined us as our Order Fulfillment Agent in January 2018. He recently took on more responsibility and teamed up with Karim as a Key Account Manager for Retail Sales of Sara's Organic Food. He grew up in Sharkeya and graduated from the Commercial Technical Institution in Tanta with a degree in Business Administration. Ahmad was initially working in sales but decided to make a switch to agriculture when he heard about a vacancy at SOF. Ahmad loves the sense of satisfaction and purpose that working in agriculture and growing and delivering food to people gives him. Outside of work, Ahmad loves to enjoy the good weather at the farm and sit out on the lawn, reading one of his favorite books.
Hamdy Abd El Haleem
Purchasing & Packhouse Manager
Hamdy works in inventory and purchasing management to source only the best produce from carefully selected partner farms for Lara´s Premium Produce brand. He is also responsible for allocating the agricultural production of Sara’s Organic Farm. Hamdy manages the team who oversees all receiving, sorting, and packing of fresh produce from our farm as well as partner farms. Hamdy graduated from Monifya University and previously worked at Beco where he used to manage packing and exporting. Hamdy joined SOF in October 2018 drawn to the SOF mission and the idea of delivering organic fresh food directly to people's homes.
Walaa Hamad
SOF Experiences Manager
Walaa Hamad is an agronomy engineer and our SOF Experiences Manager. She graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Cairo University with a bachelor's degree in International Agriculture major Environmental Agriculture. Before joining SOF, Walaa had experience working in quality control and exporting horticultural products. Walaa gets her inspiration from all things nature- farming, animals, agronomy, landscape, environment, and even farm vehicles such as tractors and the likes. She believes that agriculture is the science and art of cultivating plants. Walaa loves living a healthy lifestyle and enjoys reading, drawing, listening to music, and practicing sports, especially pilates and yoga.
